Welcome to Jesmonde1172
It’s just over three years since I returned to Jesmond following my second stroke… Yippee!
Not unlike an earthenware pot my head was banjaxed...broken after the 2 strokes....my acquired brain damage. I struggled to form words, conversation, my window to this world.
Predominantly alone during rehabilitation...I put my sole trust in Jesmond.
Jesmond has been my home on and off for 40 years.
I recovered with substantial help from family and the friendly folk of Jesmond, slowly gaining confidence to ‘step out of the shadows'.
Jesmond is my safe space. There was no miracle cure for stokes on this pilgrimage. I strive to move forward in life, like eveyone else in an uncertain world.
Like anywhere, Jesmond has a mix of good and bad, yin and yang.
Jesmonde1172...It's my home and I like it...I hope you do too!
